The Paterno Family Needs a Six-Pack of STHU

Very interesting how the Paterno clan, in continuing everything under the sun, including wasting time in a Court of Law, suing God and everyone else who condemned Joe Pa, trying to clear his name, posthumously:

SNIP:

Damn, what about Sandusky’s VICTIMS? Many of those boys were OUR kids. Kids who had their innocence stolen from them by Sandusky, and aided and abetted by Paterno and the whole Penn State Athletic Department who took no action against this bastard until the public learned about it – then they couldn’t continue the cover-up. Every time the Paterno family pulls shyt like lawsuits, they are invalidating what Sandusky’s victims suffered and won’t let this whole sorry mess DIE.

I’m sorry, Paterno Clan, if being associated with Joe Pa, in life or in his death, is causing you some grief, but that is NOTHING compared to what those kids Jerry Sandusky molested and raped had to endure. Your pursuing a lawsuit against anyone who tore your patriarch off that pedestal he was on basically says you don’t give a damn about what those kids suffered, and were allowed to suffer because your patriarch turned his back and a blind eye to what his assistant coach was doing with those kids in the locker room and elsewhere.

... and just can't accept that not only is it gone but their revered leader is now anathema in most people's eyes. Decent people that is.

Also, all the favors and perks that they got dried up because no one in power wants to do anything for them. If anything they will make it harder now to CYA.

it might have reflected badly upon his own judgment and competence -- THAT'S all he cared about.

Where I live in PA is about 90 minutes from Penn State, and some of the continuing admiration of Joe Paterno is just sickening.

He should have done MUCH more than what he did, and now that the truth is coming out, people who have admired him for years are in a state of denial, blaming everyone else BUT he and his family.

This was one of the reasons why I wouldn't even consider going to Penn State.

My grandfather was an alumni at Penn State.

He would roll over in this grave if he saw this. My "Papa" was a fierce protector of the children. One time when my sister and I were roughhousing in the living room I sat on the edge of the coffee table. Needless to say it broke. My papa came in and said, shhh, don't tell your grandmother, I will tell her the leg was loose. Needless to say, he fixed it. It was back in place on our next visit, he winked at me when I saw it.

The needless grief and the ungodly hell that Paterno aided and abetted was indisputable. My heart goes out to the survivors.

I understand that you would not want to attend Penn State, Matt. The schools shame will live on for many years to come!

rightfully so. Those kids were absolutely powerless over what was happening to them and everyone turned their heads and did nothing. His family just needs to deal with it - much like those kids will have to for the rest of their lives. There is more to life than football and that is all anyone was interested in protecting.
