that without 51 votes you could have Bernie as leader and we would still have the same mess we have now. I hope at long last the caveman and cavewoman caucus has figured out that the GOP won't be reasonable. It is beginning to look that way. The filibuster of nominations has got to go.

but they choose not to. Harry has to own that. Harry is happy with the status quo because the Ruling Elite are happy. Harry and a number of the Democratic Senators are owned by the Ruling Elite.

He is their leader not their God. What would you have him do? What do you think Bernie would do that he isn't? People have free will and given our current political system it is quite easy for Senators to say f you to their party.

Why would they do that if they werent going to let him lead. Harry promised he would fix the filibuster then whimped out. He is afraid of McConnell. He said that McConnell fooled him. Lol. Fooled him time and time again apparently.

Harry is either complicit or weak, you tell me which.

because what makes a good majority leader are skills we don't know about: how they work with their colleagues, how they are able to persuade Dems to maintain party unity, and ability to negotiate with the opposition. One thing I know, Harry Reid sucks.

so whomever it was, they would be less likely to be a giant target for the rabid right.. and who would not have to waste so much precious time campaigning to stay elected..

and while we're at it, someone who may not be seriously "connected" to banking/big corporate lizards

Top two choices are (a) someone who's not a Democrat and (b) someone who hasn't been in the senate long enough to read, let alone fully memorize and understand the Senate rules of procedure.

I was a big Tom Daschle fan.
He is sorely missed.

May he get a cabinet position in Hillary's two administrations in 2017-2025.

Harry Reid is doing a fantastic job.

Without Harry Reid, New York's gun laws would have all been overturned with that reciprocal Cornyn amendment having passed.
As such, I love Harry Reid. A great scrappy fighter who knows the intracacies to battle against the tea party.
