Saudi prince spends 20 million dollars on Disneyland trip
In late May, Prince Fahd al-Saud of Saudi Arabia celebrated completing college by taking a 19.5 million dollar trip to Disneyland near Paris. Closing off entire areas of the park for three days, the prince and 60 of his guests were able to partake in an exclusive royal Disney extravaganza. Paris was just the conclusion of what the prince called the 'Disney Dreamers Everywhere' tour, which included Disneyland visits in Hong Kong, Tokyo, California, and Florida. Online reaction to the prince's spending spree was mixed.
A picture of a poor young boy with an Islamic proverb about poverty was tweeted out many times, leaving many to question whether the prince's extravagant spending is Islamic.
@FASH5RH: The tale of Omar bin alKhattab! God will judge you for every penny you have spent while you have forgotten all your hungry brothers.
