A liberal friend of mine posted a chart with Monsanto "employees" in government jobs, one of the entries was Hilary saying she is on the "Monsanto council". He asked if this was true. I googled it but the only thing I found was a tweet saying it was so. I dug a bit deeper and found that the Rose Law firm was once (no dates) engaged as advisors to Monsanto.
This seems to be a smear job, but like I said, I've found almost nothing indicating that Hilary did or didn't actually work for Monsanto or even anything connecting her directly to them. I know she may be a Monsanto supporter without actually having worked for them, but that is beside the point. I'd just like some clarity on her official connections to Monsanto and when that occurred.

(1,569 posts)I'm not invested one way or another. Like I said in the original OP, I'm aware that the Rose Law firm was involved with Monsanto while she was there in the 80s and early 90s. That is a long, long stretch to claim she is or ever was a Monsanto employee. It doesn't even confirm or deny that Hillary actually worked directly on Monsanto business while there. It certainly doesn't show that she had anything to do with any of things that Monsanto is currently doing in the areas of gene modification.
I once worked for a large publishing company that Goldman Sachs had control over for a time. That doesn't make me connected to the banking scandal.
I'm really not trying to defend Hillary's position on GMO, Monsanto. It is pretty obvious that Monsanto has made huge inroads in getting its people into government regulatory positions and Bill Clinton was responsible for much of that in the 90s. However, I don't think that claiming Hillary was a Monsanto employee is accurate or fair based on anything I've seen so far.
