Friend moving to Richmond VA...input please

She is going to work with the food bank in Richmond. Any ideas about where she can meet Democrats and which neighborhoods are safe and which to avoid. She is 63, and knows no one so I am asking you guys. Thanks for anything you can tell us!

I don't agree politically with two of my best friends, but that does not affect our relationship. If I had screened on the basis of politics, I would never have gotten to know the best friends anyone could hope to have.

I guess what I meant was people who care about other people. when we moved into my neighborhood, there was a sigh of relief from the people on the block that we were democrats, worked for nonprofits, had an interest in the community, and were compassionate and also liked to laugh and talk on the back porch into the night about the world, and how we could do some good and not be bigoted, racist homophobes, buying into empirical greed. Thats what I meant by democrats.
