Just put disclaimers on the programs and stop honoring these guys with Hall of Fame stuff.
Cut out all the senate hearings..
Arrest them when possible, and just move on already.
They are GROWN UPS who just want to cheat. Let the players police each other..
Put disclaimers out & let them ruin their health if they choose to.
If people want to go watch drug addicts play games & rake in bazillions of dollars, that's their prerogative.

(20,600 posts)but now I know it is just a bunch of thugs and cheats taking steroids and crap. All sports records are frauds after about 1990 or so, or maybe even earlier.
So fuck team sports. (Tennis and Golf are the only ones I will watch occasionally nowadays)

(20,851 posts)and people wondering if it was the bat, the ball or the size of the parks... just like in tennis it was the harder courts and the new rackets... in golf it was the new generation of clubs and balls. Every fan base is good at lying to themselves because for some reason people aren't willing to accept the perfectly obvious.

(16,399 posts)....and won't believe any BS story the guy can come up with, but if it's their guy....."We shall never speak of this again....."
There's a pretty prominent guy who tested postive (won't name names to avoid a sports flamewar) and he basically said it wasn't supposed to come out, but the test must have been wrong and he would "get to the bottom of it", which he never did of course and the media and fans bought right into his story. Now people are whispering he's on them again and he's outraged about it.
You either think it's a problem, or it's not. If it's not, don't celebrate when the other guy gets caught, and if you think it is, curse the idiot on your team when he does.

I know that nutrition has an effect, as does weightlifting , but not all that many years ago sports players looked fairly "normal".

(23,664 posts)Professional sports is just another way to take money out of the pockets of a lot of people who need it and give it to a small number of people who don't.
With that much money at stake, stuff like this was bound to happen.
If we're lucky, people will finally get fed up and a few teams will go out of business and the whole thing may revert to what it ought to be - adults playing a children's game.

(20,851 posts)People seem to want the illusion their sport is pure but there is little evidence they actually care that it is. You really had to be living in a glass bubble the past 30 years to think performance enhancing drugs weren't being taken. Yet attendance and rating in these sports are doing great. The athletes pay lip service to being clean, but they don't seem to be pressing their unions to make sure they are clean. If they don't care, why should I?

(22,143 posts)It's merely entertainment like going to watch a play, see a movie or attend a concert. No one is going to be pissed at Keith Richards for enhancing his performance by smoking a joint before he goes on. All PEDs do is let you recover from injury faster, they do not make you better. If I took a bunch of steroids I would not be able to play Major League Baseball. You still have to be able to hit and field. And seriously, if I was paying a guy $25 million I would want him on the field as often as possible and recovering from injuries as fast as possible. I want him to be able to play at his best and so would the fans. It's all much ado about nothing. There is no more sanctity to sports then there is to Black Sabbath. In fact, I think there's more sanctity to Black Sabbath

How many years until parents doping little league kids becomes a problem?
