(5,957 posts)They ride on the sidewalk and don't respect red lights or other traffic rules. They are s menace to pedestrians.
Occasionally, I see a responsible rider, but for every good rider, I probably see 5 jerks. I work in Manhattan and my opinion is based on personal experience

(5,957 posts)That doesn't change the fact that I've seen bike riders knock pedestrians down on the sidewalk a number of times and more near misses on the sidewalk than I can count. It's not unusual to see bikes going the wrong way up a one-way street. If you spend any time in Manhattan, you know what I'm talking about.
The point is that I don't think the CitiBike program is the issue. It's the people that typically ride them. Personally, I'd like to see bikes banned from mid-town streets
