"I'm sorry that you were offended by my statements". How many times have we heard that from some neanderthal repub trying to quell the outrage over their most recent "women can use mind control to not get pregnant" type of statement. They're not apologizing for the statement, only that you were offended by it.

"We'll investigate the leaks" is our version of "Sorry we got caught". Not sorry we did it, not saying we'll stop but we're really pissed about who told you so we need to shut that down first.

How about we shut down the program first. Seems like that might be a better option.

"...Now that it has come to our attention, we are going to shut down this administrative program that was a holdover from the bush years. we're going to shut it down by noon today".

Instead, the first response is "who ratted on us?"

But I'm curious why only Verizon? Maybe there was a reason. After all, a warrant was issued. Maybe it's proper, maybe it's not. I, too, want to know the details.

Remember when Bush was busy setting up that giant collection center with one of the phone companies? This is not new. Did people have a memory lapse or something?
