Remember: The GOP's current psychotic episode over contraception is a distraction.

The GOP's losing the narrative on virtually everything but the social wedge issues. Foreign policy? Obama's pulled our troops out of Iraq, is planning to pull our troops out of Afghanistan, and the Iran situation hasn't erupted enough to do anything to the poll numbers. Economy? Unemployment's finally coming down, the economy's picking up, despite the GOP's attempts at sabotage, so they've lost the narrative there. Furthermore, the Occupy movement has implanted in the American collective psyche the concept of the 99% vs. the 1% - and got a lot of people realizing how much they're being fucked by the rich - a complete nightmare for them, as the GOP's strategy has been to cater to the billionaires, rake in the campaign and 527 and SuperPAC bucks, and use mass media to hoodwink the public with relentless attack ads. But people are getting resistant to the old attack ads - they're seeing through the bullshit, no matter how much money they spend to saturate us with it.

What's left? God, Guns and Gays. The wedge issues. Which also includes abortion, contraception, the War on Christianity by those eeeeeeeevil baby-eating atheists.

Their sole strategy is dividing people with wedge issues.

It's our job to get people to see through this bullshit too.

And the economy wasn't quite so badly broken, so the people weren't paying as much attention.

I was mildly excited when he got the nod due to his investigations into the Iran Contra scandal but man he lacked charisma and fire in that election.

They do control 27 states with a total of 270 electoral votes, so if they can steal ALL of those states, they win.
