Question for people who support secret NSA activities. Why buy into the argument that this

collection of personal info/metadata is strictly to uncover terrorist plots? How do any of you know that Koch is not involved or at some point in the future won't be involved in surveillence? How do you know that these private companies aren't compiling secret files on activists/leftwing "radicals" either on their own accord or at the behest of other private concerns?

Absent evidence to the contrary, all of us pretty much let the system operate on its own.

compiled and we know that private companies are collecting this data and keeping it. They are are not deleting data that doesn't relate to possible terrorist plots.

That doesn't mean anyone is doing so. If the widespread control and blackmail is going on that some say, where is the evidence of this?

Why does the SCOTUS vote the 'wrong' way sometimes?
Why did the FISA court recently rule against the NSA?

Anything can happen. But so far we have no evidence that the laws and regulations are not being followed.

We just have Ed Snowden's allegations. And he has disappeared after saying "I have nothing to hide."

If even Stephen Colbert is mocking Snowden, that's just as much 'evidence' to me -and more convincing, actually- than something Snowden says.

Nothing will change the mind of a "worshiper." It's like trying to reason with a republican during the bush junta or, as Barney Frank said, "talking to a dining room table." It's a belief system and personality cult.
