collection of personal info/metadata is strictly to uncover terrorist plots? How do any of you know that Koch is not involved or at some point in the future won't be involved in surveillence? How do you know that these private companies aren't compiling secret files on activists/leftwing "radicals" either on their own accord or at the behest of other private concerns?

Why does the SCOTUS vote the 'wrong' way sometimes?
Why did the FISA court recently rule against the NSA?
Anything can happen. But so far we have no evidence that the laws and regulations are not being followed.
We just have Ed Snowden's allegations. And he has disappeared after saying "I have nothing to hide."
If even Stephen Colbert is mocking Snowden, that's just as much 'evidence' to me -and more convincing, actually- than something Snowden says.
