She's probably wearing something shiny and the light hit it, just so.

KC Star could have picked a better pic, a more glamorous pic, but they also could have picked much worse.

Is this a more recent pic maybe?

She was in the grip of a drug addiction that was hellacious--she had no hope of winning that battle, because she was uninterested in prevailing.

The picture isn't great, but she actually looked much worse, I'm sure, in her final days.

had the most powerful voice. I kept hoping she would make a comeback. Loved her with my favorite Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard.

She might have been something at some point but in the modern perception she was a drug addled addict.

She won 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards sold more than 170 million copies. So yeah. she 'might have been something at some point.'

Are you disagreeing with me or something?

And she is still perceived as a drug addled addict in the modern perception.

Edit - And unless a bus or a ninja snuck into her apartment I have a sneaking suspicion her cause of death will only further cement it.

It's harsh, but the first 2 things I think of when his name comes up is probable child molestation and plastic surgery disasters ad infinitum. With Whitney, it's crack first, music second. TBH, I despised her music, (I do admit she had a ok voice for mediocre pop stylings) so I am biased. Just because a singer sells well in no way means they are all that good.

Of course, without music, neither would be known at all, unless Jacko was busted as a serial paedo in some sensational manner.

Either way, RIP Whitney.
