Not to seem insensitive (but replying in this thread sort of implies that anyway) but I don't like that this whole thing is upstaging Adele's return to live singing.

(4,578 posts)Are you saying she was a hero? A role model to mold your own children with. She has her own prodigy already in some news articles for drug abuse, etc. Was she a role model and hero to her own daughter?
Just curious. In what context do you consider her a hero? Just trying to understand. I would consider a hero the following as defined by dictionary.com:
1. a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.
2. a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal: He was a local hero when he saved the drowning child.
3. the principal male character in a story, play, film, etc.
4. Classical Mythology .
a. a being of godlike prowess and beneficence who often came to be honored as a divinity.
b. (in the Homeric period) a warrior-chieftain of special strength, courage, or ability.
c. (in later antiquity) an immortal being; demigod.
Was she Godlike? Was she a male character in a play, or a man of distinquished courage or ability? Warrior with special abilities? Is she immortal or a Demigod? Well, maybe her music is. What brave deeds and noble qualities did she have? Is singing noble?
I would consider her a talent, a great one. Guess she was in a movie or two. Drugged and drank her life and fortune away. and in the process lost her talent to hit the notes. I certainly don't want to model my childrens' lives around her as a hero or role model. But that is just me.

But isn't that doubly redundant?

But in this particular instance I'm more focused on the Bread and Puppet Circus that passes for journalism in this country.
