"Digital Fortress" -- the NSA scandal is a Dan Brown novel from 1998.

This "scandal" is amazingly similar to a novel written 15 years ago by Dan Brown, author of Da Vinci Code. Digital Fortress has so many parallels to the current "scandal," it's rather amazing. There are impossibly huge supercomputers monitorimg every bit of our communications; there are love interests; there are the diplomatic implications. Is this art imitating life, or life imitating art?

It also happens to be a good, fast-paced thriller that just might freak you out and make you seriously question everything we're being told about this NSA program.

It's an enjoyable read if you like Brown. I am alright with his books, but many aren't.

This one is his first novel, before Angels and Demons, Deception Point, and then Da Vinci Code, in that order.

I liked all of them but especially Digital Fortress and Da Vinci Code.

I haven't read his latest, although I plan to. I might wait for paperback.
