Hastings was driving down the road and broke into spontaneous combustion. And after that, of course the car drove into a tree, because a pile of ashes can't steer very well.

I would bet 95% of all of these were texting or talking on phone

and forgetting to

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD

If it were me, I would make it impossible to text, to use a phone, to use a computer.

They should be 100% disabled.

And in NJ I think, there is going to be a new law saying police can look at a persons cell phone to see if it was used in an accident.

I am 100% for that.

the conspiracy theory is that people can text, talk, use computer, smoke, reach for the radio, and eat a sandwich, drink a 48 ounce sugar high soda, etc. and drive.

Ah, no. All that kills.
As silly as trying to beat a train across the tracks (or surfing on top of a moving train and
forgetting that is a tunnel straight ahead.)

Not only will they Stand Their Ground, they'll also occasionally drop coconuts on the road to flip dumbass young motorcyclists right into their co-conspirator (gravel) that lines the streets so that said dumbasses are left to limp home with a bent shift pedal and clutch lever to explain to their parents why their best school pants are shredded from the knee on down and are all bloody.

Not that I would have any personal knowledge of such an occurrence, of course, being Practically Perfect in Every Way as I am...

I hate the idea of bringing a tree in the house to watch it die. She maintained that it was no different than cut flowers. Sooo we compromised and got a live tree with the idea that we would use it year after year, and then roll it's pot back out side until the next holiday season. Then we broke up then it got neglected. After the divorce, I got custody of the now more-than-half-dead tree which I stuck in a hole in the yard at my new place--mostly with the intent of keeping anyone from tripping in the hole. That was in 2001 and that pine is now an easy forty feet tall!

You're forgiven.

The wild driving I see every day on city streets amazes and frightens me.

Across the street and down a block from my office a couple of weeks ago some car went flying down the parking lane at high speed, went onto the sidewalk, and took out 4 trees, 4 parking meters and 3 street signs before coming to rest. I didn't see the accident or the car, but later that day i did see the mess left behind.

Probably some 20-something Persian male in a black Mercedes or Beemer in a big hurry to get someplace or showing off, passing traffic on the far right in the parking lane because.......well isn't that what that lane is for???
