Obama said that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court "is transparent." We don’t doubt that there are good reasons for secrecy at the court, but if you’re going to operate a mostly secret court, you also don’t get to crow about how "transparent" it is. Even though I don't think of Politfact as always correct, it's interesting to see how they reported this. Besides the initial issue of spying on all of us, a second idea that also worries some folks is simple; can we really trust that even Obama knows what the spooks are doing unless there is real transparency like open courts?

Throw them under the bus with the ACLU.
Had time to come up with a good answer, or to outright attack the system(or at least say "This isn't a perfect system, and I'd like to change that."
