Racism and ignorance don't cancel each other out, you can be both

So many times I read that someone's racist comments are made out of ignorance and not racism. Guess what? Ignorance doesn't cancel out racism. Anybody who uses the N word is being racist, whether they are also ignorant is a different discussion.

I don't care if they didn't "mean" to be racist or "intend" to be racist: they are racist. Period. And I am guilty of doing racist things in my past, I used to pull the corners of my eyes so they looked Chinese and I would speak without using "r". I was young, I was ignorant, and I was being racist. Period.

I have since learned better and I would never think that is okay now. Apparently Paula Deen has not learned and she's getting EXACTLY what she deserves.

That is all.

If you've never met an Asian, you would probably have racist stereotypes.

Due to lack of information, you might believe the worst about other people.
