Freedom of Information Act. Oh, my.
I was talking to my department head about my efforts to back up all my information, including important emails. It takes a bit of work and discipline to perform the task regularly, but it's critical to never lose these electronic bits. He told me, "I don't back up my emails. If need to refer to an old communication to me or from me, I simply go to the local newspaper's website and look it up there. One of the local reporters got crosswise with us some years back and used the Freedom of Information Act to put every email ever written by me or received by me on a public website. I'll never have to backup an email for the rest of my life."
That's kinda shitty. Invasion of privacy? Oh, yeah. Abuse of power? Oh, yeah. But that's a good invasion of privacy and a good abuse of power.

(38,437 posts)... if it does not violate other rules (e.g., selling stuff) and does not cost the state money (e.g., long distance calls). None of that was filtered from the postings. You okay with that, too?

Yep, buzz, it's me, the leftist environmentalist who you claim is to blame for the Hanford nuclear waste dump not being moved to Nevada. Like you said in this post:

fyi -- PNNL is not part of the government. It is privately owned. Never got a paycheck from the gov't. And, it's past tense. Don't work there now.
