...but there's still a conspiracy to indict him on false assault charges and extradict him to Sweden after which the USA will indict him, right?

(45,319 posts)and not the same, what are the commonalities you see in the two cases that should lead to similar handling? Be specific. Are their actions the same? Their passports? Or do you just dislike them both in the same Centrist sort of 'facts don't matter I say indicted damn it' sort of way?

(94,727 posts)Some people here insist that Assange is secretly wanted by the US Government who've come up with a convoluted way to get, instead of simply filing charges, like they did with Snowden.

(45,319 posts)I also asked you to compare and contrast the two cases and show why you think they are very similar. They are not similar. I'm not interested in your gossip about 'some people' I am interested in what you are saying that is incorrect and asking you to elucidate your 'reasoning' on this issue.
Is this a 'Meta' thread? Not about the issue but about 'some people here'? If so, then deal with it. Some here don't know what 'indictment' means and you are one of them.

(45,319 posts)rhetoric using a basic English dictionary? Not going to address 'some people here' vs the actual issue?
Got it. Mushy Middle. Facts do not matter.

My apologies for misunderstanding the legal action taken, but the point remains the same. The US Government has taken legal action against Edward Snowden. The US Government has taken legal action against Bradley Manning. But for some reason, the fact that the US Government has NOT taken legal action against Julian Assange is meaningless because there's a complicated conspiracy in place to seize him for later retribution, rather than the reality of an actual sexual assault charge.

(154,021 posts)One of the charges in the criminal complaint could be seen as...political by the host government.
This is about sending a message to any future whistleblowers. The one page complaint has no probable cause, since it is not an indictment.
