Wearing a simple white Tshirt with 'T' printed on front makes men more attractive to women, study finds
Take heart, men. Wearing a simple white T-shirt with a black 'T' printed on front can make you seem more attractive to women, a new study found.
Nottingham Trent University researchers say the simple illusion significantly improves the wearer's waist to chest ratio, which women see as a sign of masculinity and attractiveness.
Researchers showed thirty women pictures of men with different body shapes, wearing just a plain white T-shirt, and asked them to rate the mens attractiveness, health and intelligence.
Next, the women were asked to do the same thing when shown the same men wearing Tshirts with upright and then upside down Ts on front.
Wearing an upright T made the men appear 10 per cent more attractive to the women. But wearing upside down Ts, reduced their perceived attractiveness by accentuating their belly and making their hips appear wider. And men who had a less-than-ideal body shape got the most benefit from the optimal illusion. The thicker the T shape, the more attractive the men seemed. However, it didnt change the mens perceived intelligence, researchers found.

The Straight Story
(48,121 posts)And never, and I mean never, say something like "Wow, Hillary's dress looks nice today" - because no one has ever commented on what men wear and we should only ever comment on what people say (unless we are sexist haters). Did anyone ever comment on a dress bill wore? Nope.
I can't even watch TV anymore because some people dress in ways that make me see them in a different light than I see mother theresa and I can't help my evil self from thinking 'she looks pretty'. God, could you imagine if I said that in a thread about someone of the opposite sex??? There would be calls for banning me! I am learning though.
I have not opened a door for anyone in a long time now.

Most of the type I describe are the men I see in the hardware store. I hang out there more than just about anywhere else.
I guess I need to find better places to hang out!

I looked pretty ratty when I was landscaping during working hours.

(34,138 posts)Was they say their "T" Tshirt made men more attractive without providing of what was less attractive.
Actually, though I see men in natty suits at the hardware store - stock brokers and politicians heading home and picking up stuff on the way. Not sure what a Brooks Brothers suit looks like compared to any other brand (I don't do brands that much) but nice suits.
I'm more attracted to a man in a well worn pair of jeans and a Tshirt than a man in a suit. I'm that kind of woman - it goes back a long way.

(33,224 posts)If you see my wife at the hardware store, she'll be nicely dressed because she's only running an errand for the person at home fixing a busted thing.
This explains the difference in attire.
csziggy
(34,138 posts)Because I was out working and needed parts - and I'm the wife. I managed a horse farm for thirty years. I've been dirty in ways I don't want to remember.
The dirtiest I had to go to the store was when a pipe blew in the rain. We had to dig up the cut off, then dig up the broken section. Once we checked the size and fittings we needed, I drove to the plumbing supply, muddy and nasty cause we had no water until the break was fixed. My husband stayed at the farm, digging out the hole so we'd have room to make the repair and making a ditch to drain off the water.
Fun times. We're retired from that now pretty much though just a few weeks ago we were out helping to dig out a cut off to shut water off to a broken pipe. The people now running the farm were helping and going off to buy the parts, but we knew roughly where the shut off was and they didn't.

(37,648 posts)Funny how that didn't occur to the people doing the survey. That was my first thought of seeing a man with a big line down his chest pointing toward the nether regions. Whereas, a horizontal line above the waist says, "Stop here! There ain't nothing good below!"
