And yet the official narrative is that he is in a capsule hotel in the transit area of the Moscow airport, having never crossed over into Russian territory.
And, so far, no one has seen him in said transit area. And no one in the US government is challenging Putin's clams.

(25,965 posts)but is an individual riding in a 'diplomatic' limo subject to diplomatic immunity? Is the limo itself given diplomatic immunity wherever it travels within a sovereign nation - a mobile embassy, so to speak?

(75,480 posts)if it had been possible to transport him to the airport in a limo with diplomatic immunity. I am of course just making an assumption and could be 100% wrong about this.

(42,239 posts)but later reports seemed to contradict that. First reports said that he was driven away in an Ecuador car but not long afterwards reports said Equador was looking for him at the airport.
