(13,704 posts)people don't consider blacks have the same rights and live in fear because of race that somehow they will get the upper hand not considering black people are just like the rest of us no matter what race.. If anything that will destroy the security of this country it is fear itself. People fear the government is turning fascist, fear that rights guaranteed under the Constitution are being diminished etc. Fears ingulfing their very lives beyond reason and loss of faith and fear that our leadership is bent on changing our democracy.

(13,141 posts)although I said that years ago and was called out for it;
and I realized it was bullshit, of course I see race.
I don't care what race people are, that's different
than not seeing. I do my best to avoid putting
anybody in a box for any reason at all -- but I'm
also aware there is a lot of programming in my
brain that still pops up, that is race-related.

And yes I would be armed, concealed. Don't want to frighten him.

(1,591 posts)And whatever the legal description would be, "extreme stupidity/negligence resulting in the wrongful death of another person" (whatever manner that is legally expressed), Zimmerman deserves the penalties of law.
The defense is having their case made for them by what looks like an ignorant prosecution grasping for public approval. The racial blood lust for a hate crime conviction is going to collapse this whole case. Zimmerman, (to me) looks guilty of wrongfully killing Martin, that is what the case should have been about, and if it were prosecuted like that-- Zimmerman would already be serving his sentence.

I've found that for the most part, those who accuse others of that are actually stirring with as much passion too-- simply in the opposite direction, as they fantasize over self-fulfilling prophecies.
Crazy, indeed.
