to fill in. Leave Tweety at his first show's time, follow that with the Rev., then Rachel, then Chris then O'Donnell. Chris and O'Donnell are both on too late because of the extra dumb Tweety show..most times he's intolerable to watch even once..much less twice.

(23,664 posts)Put Martin Bashir in there somewhere.
He's the only one I ever watch anyway.

(38,958 posts)I would pull almost all of the programing and do something like real news instead of the endless series of talking heads.
I don't even bother to watch any of it anymore, but might if there was a chance at some information sandwiched in between the 55 minutes of commercials each hour.

Bashir and O'Donnell, and Joy Reid should get more air time.
That Cycle stuff is Trash! Haven't seen it in quite a while and healthier for it.
Actually I don't watch MSNBC much at all any more. Once in a while Rachel, but make an effort to see O'Donnell.
I love O'Donnell, he seems to be the only real professional there. And I love the fact he is a Socialist! *gasp! and doesn't stamp his feet and turn red in the face when things don't go the way he would like. Really impressed with his overall 'tude. When all are losing their heads, he's calm and smart.

(13,596 posts)would be. I watch him when he comes on sometimes but never set my dvr to save his show yet. There can be little real need to have him on twice.

(3,991 posts)I haven't been watching them at all. I watch CNN for big news events, and run like hell from them when their commentary comes. I watch RT for commentary, Hartmann, Abby Martin, etc. Its hard to compete with RT though, they have no ads.
Fox News is still king due to the Fox News quality, an intangible thing that's hard to describe. But if you were to wake up at 5am, and go to one of those day labor places, where they have the plastic chairs and flourescent lights, and it stinks of dirt and sweat and the free coffee, Fox news would be the only appropriate channel to have on, even though every one there is poor. Why? Because MSNBC/CNN is too shiny, too corporate, too pastel, the commentators are too in your face (literally, sometimes the cameras are too zoomed in), too groomed, and too clever for the scene. Whereas Fox has some dolt in a suit saying "go" with the sense of values without a lot of intellect, which speaks to the scene. Its aesthetics I'm talking about. Outside of the urban suit wearing scene, the aesthetics of Fox just fit better. So if I were overhauling a network, I would do a lot to bring it down to earth.

(14,157 posts)I don't like taped news, I'll like all the shows be on later and live.

(34,845 posts)It's a trial. I'd like to know the highlights but I don't need to see the breathless dissection of every moment, which often turns out to be completely wrong half an hour later.
"We're winning! Crap! We're losing! No! We're winning!"
If either CNN or MSNBC wants to attract my eyeballs, they need to talk about more than one thing.

(231 posts)MSNBC should try to grab up Viewpoint with John Fugelsang when Al Jazerra starts their own programing on the current Current Network. I record John, Chris, Rachel, and Laurence, but save watching John for last! Tweet from John this morning that his show has another six weeks to run before the new programing starts.
