Did I just hear that the two Chinese girls who died in the crash in SF

were hit by an emergency vehicle on the runway?

but it must have been pretty chaotic out there - tragic indeed. I was trying to figure out how they just died on the tarmac - this makes sense.

This means that the Boeing777 is still the safest aircraft out there.

One of the two may have been hit, and it's under investigation. The coroner picked up on the nature of her injuries being consistent with someone hit by a vehicle. According to the news reports, the other was clearly ejected out of the plane when the tail came off.
