Things I learned overhearing teabaggers this weekend

It was a group of six of them.

1) Gold is not native to Earth. They debated if aliens brought it here or if Jews somehow had something to do with it.

2) The Federal Reserve is out to destroy America and money is not real but "just issued debt"

3) President Obama has used over 8 or 6 social security numbers

4) President Obama's father was somehow part of royalty in Africa

5) The government wants our guns so the UN can take over America and illegal aliens will play some part in it

6) President Obama has sold his two daughters to be wives for Saudi princes in exchange for power for him and Michelle after he leaves office.

I guess you run in some out-there circles, because those are crazier than the average tea party type talking points I come across. Those folks must have felt very comfortable and confident wherever this took place.

It ALWAYS comes back to some version of the " Not one of us" point.

Most of those stories have been making the rounds among the Teabaggers for years. Not all Teabaggers believe this crap, to be sure, but some of them certainly do. Those crazy-ass chain e-mails many of us receive from our Teabagging relations aren't forwarding themselves.

The only one of those I've never heard before is the one about the Gold being brought here by aliens. I've heard the opposite of that, though - that aliens came to earth thousands of years ago to get the gold that was here, and that the aliens domesticated human beings to do the work for them.

I would have spoken up even if they killed me because if these turd maggots keep this up we can kiss this planet goodbye.

I've tried over and over to explain to my goldbug friends how money works, and there's just some kind of mental block there. Gold is a fiat currency too; it's just one that you have to dig up out of the ground.

Every time I think they've said the dumbest thing possible, they just keep on talking and top it.
