(CNN) Sarah Palin may not be done with politics after all.
The former Alaska governor, who was also 2008's GOP vice presidential nominee, said Tuesday she's contemplating a bid for U.S. Senate against Democrat Mark Begich. He's up for re-election in 2014.
"I've considered it because people have requested me [to] consider it," Palin told conservative radio host Sean Hannity on his show. "I'm still waiting to see what the lineup will be. And hoping there will be some new blood, new energy. Not just kind of picking from the same old politicians in the state that come from political families."
Begich, a former mayor of Anchorage, was elected in 2008. He defeated longtime GOP Sen. Ted Stevens, who died in 2010 in a plane crash.

(10,611 posts)She won't have a f'in clue how to draft legislation.
It's scary to think that enough voters could be apathetic or clueless enough to get her there.

(15,189 posts)Look at Bush. And a lot of his boo boo's were made before the 2000 election. Even the lame stream media didn't push him hard on ANYTHING. I still say she'll run in 2016 for Queen Bee.

(14,923 posts)Also, Palin is very capable of peeling away voter support from any Republican candidates. A few percentage points will do the job without the need to win....by broadcasting her threat to run would dampen any chance for a republican candidate to win that senate seat. She is leveraging her position.....imo.

Did you gals catch HBO's Game Change this weekend? Julianne Moore's performance as Sarah Palin--intelligent but flawed, intensely charismatic but in way over her head--gave Tina Fey a run for her money, and some of my favorite moments in the film came courtesy of the candidate's flighty grasp on fashion...
It may have been a well-told story of political strategy, but it wasn't above that classic formula of the movie makeover montage scene--yes gals, once she was selected as John McCain's running mate, the former vice presidential candidate joined the ranks of Ty from Clueless and Pretty Woman's Vivian in getting the "twenty outfits in twenty seconds, set to music" treatment. And here's her best line: "Wow, I do love the Johnny Choo shoes!"
