I discovered a cool feature of DU this morning which has made it more pleasant for me to navigate the Latest and Greatest pages where I spend most of my time browsing on DU. I don't want to accidentally stumble into a forum which is considered a "safe-haven" for particular groups so I have found that it is easy to make invisible entire forums so they do not appear in the thread lists where I spend most of my time.
For those of you who are interested and haven't already discovered this forum trashing feature, all you need to do is to go to the "Forums & Groups" tab, pick the forum you want to trash, and you will find a button above the list of threads called "Trash this Forum". The rest is self explanatory.
I know- I may be stating something obvious to many of you. I still own tube radios and know how to divide by hand without a calculator, so I am a little slow.
I know this is a little "Meta" but that forum was "disappeared" months ago and I know of no other place to share this information.
Thank you for your interest.

(28,394 posts)I don't need to do that, but this seems as good a place as any to mention it. I wish I could select the Lounge as one of the groups/forums to appear on the Latest page.

(8,219 posts)A while back I was perusing the "Latest Threads" and I posted a less than positive comment about Pres. Obama in one of the threads. I came back later and found that my post had been hidden (the only time that's ever happened to me).
I quickly discovered that I'd inadvertently posted in the BOG. It was embarrassing. I have no desire to go into anyone's "safe haven" and make trouble. I NEVER post in the BOG.
Eventually, I was able to contact, I think it was OK Nancy, and explain what happened. She was very kind about it, as was one other person in the group.
I don't go to the Latest Threads anymore, because you have to be diligent to make sure you're not somewhere you don't mean to be.
So thanks for that info. I wasn't aware of it.
