The protests are huge, the pushback is huge, and some people are asking whether this may be the tipping point to push TX back to blue, or at least purple.

63 percent of registered voters say the state has enough restrictions on abortion and 71 percent think that Perry and the TX legislature should be more focused on the economy and jobs. 52% of Texas voters think that abortion should be legal in all or most cases. Only 34 percent trust Perry and the legislature to make decisions about women's healthcare. 80 percent do not want abortion to be raised during the special session.

If the governor's race was starting today, Wendy Davis would be only 14 points behind Perry. That's pretty good. Perry's favorability rating is -9, while Davis's is +16. Before Perry bailed, 60% of Texans polled said they would rather he didn't run.
