Discarded Romney Campaign Swag Now a Huge Hit in African Villages

An American volunteer for The Orbit Village Project in Kenya, a charitable foundation for orphans and children whose parents cannot care for them, collects clothing, school supplies, and gifts for schoolchildren. Her nephew worked for the Romney campaign and had tons of worthless Romney T-shirts after election day 2012.

The result was the discarded shirts were sent to Kenya, where they’re now a huge hit with kids and some adults, too.

watched a PBS special years ago on this, US trash and used clothes were imported en masse and sold so cheap that local African businesses could not compete, shut down, and thousands lost their jobs. Sound familiar to today? Only it's us, not them

From politics to sports championships, there has to be a winner and a loser, and no matter what the polls say or the spreads are, t-shirt makers cover both bases and print up both X - Some Sport's Champion 2013 and Y - Some Sport's Champion 2013, not to mention all the t-shirts made up going into an event to cheer on your political favorite or sports team. The excess and the losers are normally donated to third world countries.

Clearly these people should have been given the accompanying copies of the works of Ayn Rand to wipe the joy of a free handout from their faces!
