Rep. Cummings Says IRS May Have Targeted 'Occupy' Organizations

from the WaPo:

The House Oversight committee’s top Democrat on Friday will release new evidence that the Internal Revenue Service targeted both progressive and conservative groups for extra scrutiny during the 2010 and 2012 election cycles.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said in a draft letter to committee chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif) that congressional investigators have discovered training materials from an July 2010 “Screening Workshop” that prove IRS agents were told to be on the lookout for groups from both sides of the political spectrum . . .

Cummings said in his letter that the new IRS documents “raise serious questions about the inspector general’s report, his testimony before Congress, and his subsequent assertions in letters to members of Congress.”

Cummings’ letter said the IRS added the phrase “‘Occupy’ Organizations” to the BOLO (“Be on the Lookout” list) in January 2012, including that search criteria under the “watch list” category.

. . . accusing Democrats like Cummings (my rep) of trying to divert from their own predictable narrative that Obama was out to get them and their republican co-sponsors.

And the republicans will probably do just as you say. They have become a broken record.

Hopefully the American people are tired of broken records...

opened up a "can-o-worms" here that may lead back to people and actions he may have preferred to NOT be discovered--and perhaps if Issa would have researched the Facts of this issue Further Before creating another "Obama Insta-Scandal" he would have known that....

to see who one of the paid liars might be. Issa wanted to start a scandal and now he has, he is the key player. Cummings is an American hero for backing Issa down.

report for almost a year, then tell the report investigator(s) to only indicate that the IRS basically showed prejudice towards conservative groups, Boner telling the press that IRS employees - possible jail, Gopers screaming for resignations which they got, et al.,

Issa and this cronies need to be investigated and subsequently resign themselves - possible jail time.

Plus, no one is talking about the fake memo on Benghazi from a GOPer. WTF

The "Corporate Congresscritters" spend tens of millions of donated money to get jobs that top out at approximately $175K per year yet virtually all leave office worth tens of millions. Yes, I know a large number of them are worth millions before they ever get elected but the numbers just don't add up. Perhaps the IRS monies could be better spent looking at, dare I say, our "leaders".

Start with a schoolteacher like Newtie the Cutie who left Congress a rich man.

Wow, imagine what Horatio Alger would have done with Newt's story.
