US militancy also reflects "Stand Your Ground" mindset.

The "Stand Your Ground" law in Florida is not terribly different from US foreign policy wrt to perceived threats.

The principle is that if you "feel threatened", you are justified in proactively killing the one that threatens you. Is that not what we are doing when we send a drone missile flying into a "militant" riding their motorcycle?

It's time for American citizens to realize that to the rest of the world, America's foreign policy basically look like George Zimmerman's actions because at this point, a "militant" in Pakistan is NOT threatening any US citizens so what is the justification for the continued killing?

it being necessary to attack if there was a 1% chance sometime in the future that there could be an attack on us?

Or am I remembering that wrong? Is even Cheney that crazy? (I think yes)

It really means it is ok to Shoot Your Gun.

It means if you go hassle someone who is not committing a crime and they hassle you back and you have a gun, you can Shoot Your Gun.

Why? Because you have a gun. What good is a gun if you can't shoot it?

And what good is the world's biggest military (or surveillance capability) if you don't use it?

Of course his point was NOT that Obama is Zimmerman and Trayvon is Awlaki's son.

To think that -to characterize it that way - is truly the thinking of a child -or an imbecile.

No, the larger point is that US foreign policy wherein they attack first because they perceive a threat everywhere is the same.

Another way to say it is: When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
