I have been out of work for a year now, and have resigned myself to accepting much lower wagesand perhaps changing my occupation if needed. I'm trying freelancing, but that is looking meek.
My 2 brothers are now making less than they were a few years ago, after being unemployed for a year.
Several friends are either unemployed and relying on their spouses earnings, or they are making much less than they have in their life.
I dined with some friends last night (one of which is out of work due to a bout with cancer...and that's a corporate story in itself) and she told me that her sister (who was a friend of mine years ago), found herself out of work when the great recession first hit, then she found work, was laid off, then found work again...but with her new salary is no longer able to afford her home, and her son's college fees.
These points (and there are more), add up to one thing...
the GOP's plan is doing quite well, my friends.
