Milwaukee has it's own version of the Zimmermann trial...

But there are some differences.

For instance, neighbors of the guy said he was constantly accusing people at random of stealing his stuff.
Sounds like he has some senility problems, now add a gun to that.

MILWAUKEE —Now that the Milwaukee County Courthouse is starting to reopen, a high-profile trial is able to begin. A 77-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his 13-year-old neighbor will face a jury.

John Spooner is charged with first-degree intentional homicide for shooting and killing Darius Simmons, 13, in May 2012. He accused his teenage neighbor of breaking into his home repeatedly and stealing guns, a claim the victim's mother denies.

Spooner was known by his neighbors, police, and local elected officials as a gun collector. In a recently reported burglary, Spooner claimed that four shotguns were taken. The police had already done an investigation, several days prior, to burglaries at Spooner's residence. They had interviewed Darius Simmons' family, and concluded that no one from his household was involved. Larry, Darius's mother, had lived in that home for only a month.

Throw the bastard in jail and let him rot the rest of of his days. No mental hospital, none of that.

And auction off his guns to pay a pittance of restitution to the family.
