Bachmann urges ‘spanking’ for Obama to take away his ‘magic wand’ (LMAO)

President Barack Obama (D) may throw the 2014 House races to his Democratic allies by producing a “magic wand” that grants non-citizens the right to vote in U.S. elections, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said in a video published Monday.

“It’s my prediction that the House Republicans could put themselves in a position where they could actually lose the gavel in 2014,” she said in footage published by the right-wing conspiracy website WorldNetDaily. “Because I think the president, even by executive order, could again wave his magic wand before 2014. And he’d say, ‘Now all of the new legal Americans are going to have voting rights.’ Why do I say that? He did it in 2012. Do you remember?”

Despite the congresswoman’s allegations, the president actually announced last June that he’d issued an executive order placing undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children by no fault of their own as the lowest priority for deportation — a clear exercise of executive power.

His order had nothing to do with granting non-citizens the right to vote, but it did ensure that young immigrants who graduated from high school in the U.S. or served in the military will not be sent away. The president has continued to emphasize the role of Congress in passing comprehensive immigration reform ever since.

Despite the facts, Bachmann — who once accused a House colleague of being in league with the Muslim Brotherhood and is pretty sure Obama’s ultimate goal is to impose Sharia Law on the whole world — charged ahead with her latest conspiracy theory. “Anyone was here as a Latina under age 30, he said you get to vote,” she claimed. “What? He decides you get to vote? If he did it in 2012, know — take it to the bank — he’ll do it in 2014.”

“And then guess what’ll happen?” Bachmann continued. “Democrat in the White House. Democrats controlling the Senate. Democrats controlling the House. At that point they will change election law and it will be almost impossible to ever see a Republican majority again. Do we get how important this is? I’m not crying wolf here.”

She added that the president’s “magic wand” is so troublesome that someone needs to give him “a spanking” and “take it out of his hand.”

So many of the apparently absurd or moronic statements coming from our opponents also contain coded references. The "spanking" idea speaks directly to the "punishing father" worldview of the RW, at least as George Lakoff would suggest. We play the quote big, thinking it makes her look ridiculous, but it actually appeals to her intended audience. I guess this is one piece of the other side's early GOTV effort for the midterms. In a way, it's almost nice to see some suggestion that they're trying to get people to vote, instead of just suppressing it. Umm.
