Does this constitute workplace retaliation for jury duty?

A coworker of mine was out for jury duty today, which we all know is a legal obligation. However, last week, our boss warned her that all of her work better be done. So, to avoid getting written up, she has to work late into Friday night to get everything done. Does this constitute retaliation?

I would guess that it probably does, but I can't say for sure.

I do know that last year, when I was on jury duty, a woman said that her boss told her that she would be fired if she had to be off for jury duty. The judge was livid and told her that was illegal and that her boss would be brought before his court if that happened. As it worked out, though, nobody really wanted her on the jury to begin with.

Side note: This woman worked for one of those little payday loan, high interest, rip off places, so I can only imagine what went on in that place to begin with.
