The one that wanted 2nd degree murder and the two that wanted manslaughter should have stuck to their opinion and then there would have been a hung jury and a new trial.

The juror on TV said they were very confused by the jury instructions on the manslaughter charge.

I think that in the future the juries should get instructions that they can understand - so much time is spent on nonsense during the trial then not enough time on educating the jurors on what the instructions and law is.

I wonder if they even knew that they could stick to their original opinion and let there be a hung jury and then there could have been another trial.

After they said they needed clarification and the judge sent back that they needed to ask a specific question.

I see this as evidence that the "not guilty" side browbeat the others into their reading of the instructions.

When I read the instructions, I thought the point that was unclear was where it said basically "if x you must find not guilty" but the next item said "if y you must find guilty"; but I could see how both x and y could be true in a person's mind. In fact I'm pretty close to there myself (but not close enough for it to be a real problem). For me the "y" was stronger, and in any case I thought in context Z couldn't walk for what he did. But I suspect in the jury room, the alpha juror(s) bullied the not-so-alpha jurors into reading it their way, and the alpha juror happened to be pro-Zimmerman.

racist motherfuckers would never convict one of their own. While I don't believe there was a literal conspiracy among the misanthropes involved, rather a conspiracy of the prevalent culture.

I have all three of these emotions going thru me. My husband was right on sat nite...he said they were just plain lazy and didn't want to figure out the manslaughter charge.

It's official, I'm embarrassed to be a white woman.

It is clear from her interview she either came in with an opinion and/or plan, or is too stupid to have ever been let near a jury.

More reason to pursue a civil case by the parents.
