Hi California! got pro-life call-to-action survey call today.

one of the benefits of being registered republican is access to tidbits as RW groups make their behind the scenes moves.

normally i don't get pro-life call to actions in CA, and never so far from the next election. CA is normally seen as unfertile pro-life ground and not all that helpful nationally, seen mostly as pro-choice republicans. so the call was definitely out of the norm.

i told them i stand for pro-choice and they promptly thanked me and hung up. so i assume i am now polled as just another pro-choice CA republican (mwa ha ha ha!).

however, the call was so out of place and the timing so coincidental to current state news about abortion, i am putting two and two together and calling for awareness in CA.

i smell astroturf ALEC movements and sussing out any blood in the water from other states. so if you think you're safe from the madness currently afflicting our fellow states in TX, NC, OH, etc. be aware that they are definitely on the move.

you should have been organizing since yesterday. there's nowhere safe.

I live in Iowa and from time to time have registered R to vote in their primary.
Statistically I fit their model - past 60 live in a small Iowa town etc.

So when one of the RW crazy groups call me I usually try to answer their questions in such a way that they continue. I am often quite interested to hear where they are going. Sometimes in election season, i can provide info to candidates on what the right is saying.

Most of the time their spiel is based on lies. After a while I will try to tie them up in discussion. I figure if they are talking to me, they are not talking to one of the rabids.

The danger is everywhere, even here in blue Cali. These people are relentless. When it comes to fanatics, the key is to remain ever vigilant. Take nothing for granted.
