Update: our Hero is not ruling out a bid for Russian citizenship. RUSSIA. Of course.

Because, you know, he can't live in a country that's not free and transparent . . .

Snowden 'not ruling out' Russian citizenship bid

(AFP) – 19 minutes ago

MOSCOW — US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden, who has applied for temporary asylum in Russia, does not rule out applying to become a citizen, a lawyer assisting him said on Wednesday.

"He does not rule out the possibility of asking for Russian citizenship," said prominent lawyer Anatoly Kucherena, who helped Snowden put together his asylum bid on Tuesday.

"He told me: 'I am not going to go anywhere'," said Kucherena, adding Snowden planned to stay in Russia for now.

"He asked me to continue helping him," Kucherena said, adding he would assist the world's most famous fugitive free of charge.

He added he would be happy to show Snowden the sights of Moscow, including famous landmarks such as Red Square, Lenin's Mausoleum and the Tretyakov Gallery.

Last night - that Mr. Putin was laughed at by what appeared to be University level students in regards to a response of his on the Snowden issue. . . i.e. stating Snowden would have to 'give up his political activities'.

Whether Mr. Putin mean it or not - the words/call to INaction - kind of paints Snowden into a corner. Doesn't mean they would NOT use him for their purposes - but he wouldn't be highly visible anymore.

don't seem to realize that Snowden has weakened his case against internal US surveillance by deciding to also leak information about our international spying agencies engaging in international spying, thereby taking the media focus off internal US surveillance.

How ironic that this champion of freedom may now be aligning himself with the ultimate Surveillance State.

Edward Snowden Says He Sought Booz Allen Hamilton Job To Gather NSA Surveillance Evidence
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/24/edward-snowden-booz-allen-hamilton_n_3491203.html

Edward Snowden, the former government contractor who leaked information on the National Security Agency's surveillance programs, says he sought the job with Booz Allen Hamilton to gather evidence on the agency's data collection networks.

In a June 12 interview with the South China Morning Post published Monday, Snowden, who previously worked as a CIA technician, said he took the position with the intention of collecting information on the NSA.

“My position with Booz Allen Hamilton granted me access to lists of machines all over the world the NSA hacked,” he said. “That is why I accepted that position about three months ago.”

He started working at Booz Allen Hamilton in March, 2013. Obama became President in 2009.

Do you need a fucking calendar, baldguy?

Still trying the "racist" smear, I see. How pathetic.

You hold a man up as a hero who has lied about pretty much everything, who has supported the worst RW racist Teabagger politicians in recent years & who has hid out and sought refuge in countries with some of the worst civil rights records in history - but when anyone brings up & exposes these little things that would brand Ed Snowden as a supreme asshole in any rational circle, you attack & defame them.

And Mr. Snowden began working for the CIA in 2007. Here's your fucking calender.

Why should he be exempt when many others are in prison for their law breaking?

He'll be tried (not dramatically executed or disappeared as he and Greenwald have inferred), and likely convicted for clearly stealing data to which he was entrusted.

He won't be there because the U.S. are just mean bullies who like to pick on people. His actions had consequences.
