I notice on Direct TV that the Documentary Channel will soon be gone to be replaced by some popular culture programming channel that will include a talk show hosted by McCain's daughter.
What use do we have for fact when fiction feels so good? One of the channels is advertising for an upcoming show, Baby Goo Goo or some such nonsense. There is a family lineup of this obese family with an overly plump child in the middle. The kid cuts a fart and the family acts like they are about to puke and this is supposed to entice me to watch the series. WTF are they thinking.

(111,327 posts)but whe they showed a film instead of a couple of talking heads or a fashion show, it was a stunner. They also ran the occasional documentary late at night.
But hey, just what we need, more fucking conservatives shoveling their lies into our living rooms.
I'm almost over it. I really keep it for TCM, Science, and Ovation. It's starting to bore me, except when it's annoying me. HGTV annoys me. I want to slap most of those people even sillier tha they are.

(8,933 posts)well, maybe a couple things. but the dumbification seems to keep going on. I used to love watching the history channel. back when they had history stuff on. then I would watch history international that would sometimes show the old stuff I missed from the history channel. what do we need smart shows or documentaries when we can have more reality tv. blech. no thanks. We have a roku and stream netflix on it. back when the computer we had in our room was working we would watch hulu on there. and some other stuff. To me it isn't worth the bs. And yes we do have kids. lots of kids shows on there. one other bonus.... netflix doesn't have commercials for the kids to bombard you with i want i want.

(18,402 posts)on their regular lineup (not premium) that had some good movies on it. After about 4 or 5 months, they removed that channel, too.
Honestly, if I didn't have to pay the $27 a month in my monthly condo assessment anyway (bulk purchase for building), I'd get rid of the whole thing. There is nothing on TV.
