Tweet, Tweet. Catholic Church promises time off purgatory to Twitter followers

Shorten your #PeriodOfPurification ROFLMFAO

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/on-faith/wp/2013/07/17/catholic-church-promises-time-off-purgatory-to-twitter-followers/

The Vatican has turned heads with a recent decree that grants “indulgences” not only to attendees of the upcoming World Youth Day, but to Catholics who follow the event on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube, as well. Indulgences are complicated business — the Church has an entire court overseeing them — but they essentially grant the receiver time-off purgatory, the period of purification before a soul moves into heaven. ..........

Pipatum is the word the Vatican is using for 'tweet.' I am paraphrasing the Gospel of John, and also badly mangling Latin grammar.

The noise of Catullus's girlfriend's sparrow, would be a chirp, warble, or trill.
Sparrows don't tweet, they chirp. A bird tweet is a weak chirp, usually of an immature bird.

pipar, to chirp
pipare, a chirp

A big chirp is the opposite of a tweet!
