(813 posts)Turdly Ted now lives (most of the time) in Crawford, Texas, though he still has digs here in Michigan, somewhere around Jackson.
He said some years ago he was going to run for Governor of Michigan. Please, may it never be so.
Trouble is, I was a fan back in his late '70s/early '80s heyday. I just can't listen to him now without thinking of the reams of bullshit that spew from his pie hole.
Oh...he's not from Detroit, as he proudly trumpets. He's from Redford Township, which is a suburb, and grew up mostly in Chicago.

(5,842 posts)Despite his record of offensive statements prior to 2012 Romney's campaign actively sought Nugent out for an endorsement.
There's no reason to believe 2016 will be any different just further proving the utter tone-deafness that has infected the GOP from the top to the the bottom.

I can never get enough of this Miami Vice Episode.

(813 posts)Unless you count Damn Yankees, and I don't, Nugent's last album to shift any meaningful sales was Scream Dream.
That was in 1979.

(813 posts)I remember an interview with Nugent in the British magazine Kerrang! about that time...he talked like his role in Miami Vice was worthy of an Academy Award.
But, of course, he would.

(1,788 posts)Now I know that Zimmerman had every right to walk on the pavement after Trayvon (similar to Zimmerman's word), but Trayvon was being creeped out by a a grown man staring at him, following him in his car, and then on foot. Like I said, legal but creepy.
Trayvon was HONESTLY scared. Trayvon was being LAW-BIDDING CITIZEN when he walked away. Now, Nuge, I'll let you in on a little secret, people don't feel comfortable when they are being followed. People will think the follower may have bad intentions. Call us all silly, but we don't have bodyguards to protect our asses, like you.
So Nuge, just STFU.
Sincerely,
Lisa

Asshole? Yes. Ignorant? Yes. He's an arrogant little pissant.
Worst person in the world? Not anywhere close.

(17,199 posts)Every day he would pick a "worst person in the world."
So on the day Nugent made that despicable statement, Keith would likely have chosen him for THAT day as his worst person in the world.
I don't watch tv talking heads, nor listen to them on the radio. I know you mean Keith Olbermann only because I see his name repeatedly here.
Cultural references stemming from tv are going to leave me behind at the gate.
