It's my daily companion too. I appreciate all the posts and pontifications! I appreciate those who suffer through mine, too! But really. It's a great place to come and learn and turn ideas and events inside out and really look at them. My thinking has broadened as a result of hanging here. I know more. Sometimes it's regrettable and troublesome too. But there-ya-go. I love this place. And when you really need it, it will buoy you up.

sister and grew up in a little town on the south shore of LI, NY, called Babylon. Ergo... I know, it's been attributed to the Steely Dan song, and maybe when I named myself that had some bearing, but I really am a Babylon sister-four times! Not to mention all my sisters and brothers on here...

I check in many times a day and am always grateful for the community, the intelligent conversation (most of the time) and being able to get a quick hit of the latest news updates along with some thoughtful commentary 24/7. Very happy to hang here!

Been here a while, don't post much, but I check in many times during the day. And as another poster said above, even those nights I can't sleep, I check in to see what's happening in the middle of the night. You just never know!

I'll state right off the bat I've become a "hater."

I hate what America has become. I could detail that opinion, but there is no point.

I learn a great deal here. I get flamed a great deal here. I continue to be here.

I continue to hope, I continue to fight, and I continue to believe.... One day things will change. Today is not that day and I have already complained about that today, but tomorrow might be that day. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to rejoice in that change and I will likely do it here.

It has its moments...

posters on here who I disagree with, and many times I have taken exception to their caliber of criticisms towards the President, but overall DU still beats seeing Ron Paul blow-jobs in YouTube video comments or liberal/gay/minority/feminist bashing on Yahoo and elsewhere.
