Am I the only one missing Molly Ivins and Ann Richards?

I miss their razor-sharp hilarious take-downs and acerbic wit. I would dearly love to hear / read Molly Ivins on Ted Cruz. That guy is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

We could make a kind of game of it here on DU. If she'd lived, what would she call him?

How would Molly Ivins characterize ted cruz? What I think of him generally can't be uttered in polite company. She'd be lightyears more incisive and clever!

Perry, Cruz, and the rest of the RW RETHUGS in Texas, but also wondering how it is they could approach some really insane, and hate-filled opponents with the humor that they both did. I'm having a real hard time not being continually angry and resentful--especially with their clear and very ugly "war on women"...

Either one of them would rip teddy into little thin nazi ribbons.

We still have Bill Moyers, though--another great Texan! Doesn't have Molly's sense of humor, but a scintillating intellect that no one on the right could hope to match.

He's no Molly Ivins or Ann Richards, but he did have a way about him, a way of looking at life that made you sit up and listen a bit.

I'm aware of his unsuccessful runs for office, but wonder what he's up to these days.

My too-infrequently-blogging substitute is the blog of Margaret and Helen -- http://margaretandhelen.com/ -- two wonderfully feisty ladies.

In their latest entry:

If Rick Perry, a C minus college student, can be trusted with making his own healthcare decisions, why the hell can’t my A+ college graduate daughter do the same? Pro-life my ass. Perry is about as pro-life as any governor who has presided over hundreds of executions. Which is to say Perry is about 250 executions short of being pro-life. And for the record, pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. Being pro-choice means you trust women to make the right decisions for themselves and their families when it comes to healthcare.
