Lincoln was right.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Abraham Lincoln

=============

Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Faith is a tenet of religion but one need not be religious to have faith.

I have faith that our country will regain its vision. That we will throw the money changers out of the temple.

I have faith that someday we will halt our wayward decline into war and weapons and that our people will be benevolent and enlightened.

I have faith that one day our people will lead the world in a peaceful revolution.

I do not discount the power of faith.

Religious faith, by its very definition is delusion. The definitions are identical.

If any part of your hopes for America are based on knowledge. Then we need a new word.

What, Lincoln asked, threatened the well-being of American democracy? Only one thing: vigilante violence, “the increasing disregard for law which pervades the country; the growing disposition to substitute the wild and furious passions in lieu of the sober judgment of Courts.”
