Does "individual responsibility" include responsibility for our votes?

Almost everyone says there is too much "partisanship" in our politics. I agree somewhat. I think there is too much partisanship from the Republican side but I do not think the Democratic Party is competing effectively from the partisan viewpoint. That does not mean that the Democratic Party is void of partisanship. That certainly is not the case.

However, the tendency to agree with the radical extremists on issues where there should be no agreement does nothing but confuse the voters. They want to be "individually responsible" but they do not see enough of a difference to make them change their minds. Therefore, they rush to vote for people like the wealthy elitist, Mitt Romney.

Even when the Democrats disagree with the Republicans on some issues, they do not disagree with enough clarity or passion. There needs to be more of a distinction in the Parties stances on the issues, in my opinion.

I listen to what some of the right wingers, like Limbaugh and Hannity and Levin, etc, say about the Democratic Party and I simply do not see a response in kind. This does not help the voters. It only confuses them further. If they wish to be "individually responsible", then we owe it to them to give the best argument we can for our side, in my opinion.

I understand that nobody likes the infighting and the rabid partisanship, but if you do not fight fire with fire, then it will burn your house down. There are a few Democrats, like Grayson, Sanders, and Warren, that are willing to fight fire with fire, but we need more like them, in my humble opinion.

That some of our own voters are confused or not clear where we stand on some issues. Whether we like it or not, these are very partisan times from the opposing side and we must fight them on equal grounds.

but not with the destructiveness of repugs. Dems want the 'system' to work for everyone; repugs do not. Repugs want to burn the place down with their 'fire,' and Dems want it to thrive.

so never say a repug lied. That is part of the problem, Dems are conciliators, and repugs just don't give a damn. Results in REAL problems for our system, which feels more broken all the time.

And in this environment, which is part of the Republicans strategy to win elections, that is not a way for Democrats to win elections, in my opinion. In effect, this is only making the Republican extremists stronger and hurting our nation.
