It's Now Clear That Russian Intelligence Speaks For Edward Snowden

Geoffrey Ingersoll

... Snowden supposedly said he has no plans to travel to Latin America because at this time, he thought it too dangerous to travel.

How do we know that? Well, Kucherena said Snowden said it, of course.

Not only does Kucherena run the FSB's public relations, but it seems he runs Snowdens PR as well — he "helped" Snowden apply for temporary asylum, he relayed Snowden's "promise" not to hurt the U.S. anymore, and he announced Snowden's (very own) idea about possibly applying for Russian citizenship with the intent to stay for a while and "learn Russian culture."

In short, intelligence expert and freelance reporter Joshua Foust may be right: the FSB speaks for Snowden now in what looks like a "a sophisticated intelligence operation against the United States."

Sorry. Sometimes it's the really simple remarks that confuse me. I was trying to find some kind of "spy who came in from the cold" angle. It's not like I haven't heard enough stories about my wife's times there. My favorite is the one about the Diet Coke freezing during the 2 block walk from the store to the flat.

Snowden is worried about US spying and surveillance. So what does he do?

He flees to Russia, a country which is well-known for spying and surveillance. Oh, BTW, Russia is also run by a guy named Vladamir Putin who is known for his desire to target political opponents by any means necessary.

Snowden then acquires a lawyer who works for Russia's main spy agency.

You just can't make this shit up.

ok...now I'm just spitballing here...but if perhaps we hadn't been conducting dragnet surveillance on our own population maybe things would have worked a bit differently?

But don't worry, the NSA has a new "no lone zone" rule now so HOPEFULLY we won't have any embarrassing disclosures about our embarrassing activities again!

When I see the term "clear" or "seems" or "expert" used in advocacy journalism or targeted propaganda, I know it's none of them.

Besides, where else but "business insider" should one go for "expert opinion" on constitutional matters? Radio disc jockeys?
The piece was just another #13.
