When he decided to run for office, it became wider problem
The man is trolling interweb chat rooms to find women to fulfill this urge of his. He has no idea who he is chatting with. What if he engages an under-age girl? That's okay?

(2,593 posts)pretty much does it for me. Of course, I'm not in New York, so my opinion doesn't really matter except that I am a Democrat who'd like for the party to have higher standards.

(3,539 posts)On one hand, what Weiner did was just a type of 'flirting'. That's more or less human nature. Some people do it with more 'grace' than others. Weiner defiantly laked grace.
Were Weiner to have been 'me kid brudder', he would have received one sever whack up side the head.
Worse, he broke a cardinal rule. Anything and I mean ANYTHING you put on the web is public knolage. Dammit man if you're gonna do that kind of stuff do it at the local bar. Hopefully with someone who might appreciate it.
So much for that.
On the other hand, Weiner is a loudmouthed, aggressive, almost Fog Horn Leg Horn progressive. He doesn't back away from right wing bulling. He is a balancing force against the Gohmerts, Bachmanns and Palins we must deal with.
Like it or not we need people like that.

Look at what passes for republican democracy in Wisconsin or North Carolina.
No excuse for Anthony Weiner's lack of social skills, keeping NYC out of the hands of the republican menace would not be a bad thing.

(2,840 posts)he's rapidly becoming a punchline. "Mayor Danger"! I don't think that helps Democrats overall, not one bit.

Anthony Weiner may well be a flawed human. He does speak truth to power.
That is what we need.
Anthony Weiner may fall to the dust of history. Let it be.
We need the fire, we need the courage. We need the stones to stand up.
