http://www.greanvillepost.com/2013/07/22/dog-finds-a-tiny-kitten-risks-everything-to-save-her/Animal control officer Michelle Smith got a call about a yelping dog behind a Home Depot. She climbed down a steep embankment to finda Shih-Tzu, tangled in a mess of briars. But she looked more closely, she realized Goldie had a friend: a tiny kitten who was nursing at the dogs side. I didnt know what to think, Smith told Fox News 10. I was shocked and surprised and then of course, awww.

(257 posts)What drives us? I don't live in some fairy world where the good always win.
I work for a living check to check with a disabled wife.
So yeah I am pretty damn proud of knowimg what reality looks like.

(55,981 posts)Claiming to know what reality is demonstrates a very closed mind. Unwilling to accept challenges to your perception of "reality".

(41,987 posts)I'm truly sorry for your troubles and don't diminish them one bit. But terrible things are everywhere and we help one another by cutting the pain with a little sweetness. If you won't let yourself enjoy something or if it just ain't your cuppa, don't pee in everyone else's pool, please.

just because the corporate masters have taken your humanity DOES NOT MEAN that is the way to go. You better wake up and find a conscience or in my book, you're no better than those corporate masters YOU ALLOWED to kill your conscience. You wake up.

(10,164 posts)...you saw fit to post an inane 4chan meme telling us all about your indifference. that's not only ironic, it's dickish. You trolled the thread, got some shit for it, and are pretending that's not precisely what you were looking for?

(16,646 posts)Humans are probably more like this than not. But it is so common, that we tend to only pay attention to those that aren't.
Anthropologists will point out that there have been fossil remains found of our ancestors which show people that have recovered from obviously serious injuries. Injuries so serious that someone must have fed and cared for them while they healed. It is probably how we survived and thrived.
And I will say, I often experience people stopping to attempt to help me when I appeared to need some help. I have numerous stories of acts of kindness by strangers. Don't let the bastards fool you. THEY are in the minority.

(7,720 posts)There are lots of situations with female dogs caring for entire litters of cats along with their own offspring. I've seen stories where cats take care of puppies. It's the 'motherly' instinct.
