It is being reported that Kanye and Kim have spent over $700,00 dollars on their kitchen and over $100,000 on a, wait for it: gold toilet seat! While I'm no fan of George W, Bush, Kanye had a lot of nerve saying that he "doesn't care about black people" just after Katrina. Really Kanye? A gold toilet seat? How many after school programs and soup kitchens could you fund with that kind of money? I still don't understand why these reality TV stars and lame musicians draw such interest from the American public. It's sad.

(1,201 posts)Yes it is his money. By anyone who would spend $100,000 on a gold toilet seat is in no position to tell anybody about helping the African American community.

"West has additionally appeared and participated in many fundraisers, benefit concerts, and has done community work for Hurricane Katrina relief, the Kanye West Foundation, the Millions More Movement, 100 Black Men of America, a Live Earth concert benefit, World Water Day rally and march, Nike runs, and a MTV special helping young Iraq War veterans who struggle through debt and PTSD a second chance after returning home."
He also appeared with Russell Simmons at the Occupy Wall Street rally and performed at the benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy.

(1,201 posts)I got it wrong: It was $767,000 just for 4 gold plated toilet seats at their California Mansion. Their money or not, it is obscene and a disgusting waste. (No pun intended!)
