Rand Paul Hits Back At Chris Christie

Rand Paul Hits Back At Chris Christie

Rep. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Friday rebutted Gov. Chris Christie's (R-NJ) criticism of the libertarian's "esoteric" national security positions through a senior advisor, who told the Washington Times that Christie "needs to talk to more Americans."

“If Governor Christie believes the constitutional rights and the privacy of all Americans is ‘esoteric,’ he either needs a new dictionary, or he needs to talk to more Americans, because a great number of them are concerned about the dramatic overreach of our government in recent years,” Paul advisor Doug Stafford told the Washington Times.

In a Thursday speech at the Aspen Institute, Christie invoked 9/11 to say that libertarians in the GOP like Paul have a "dangerous" line of thought and engage in "esoteric, intellectual debates."

<...>

Paul tweeted Friday that while Christie may be worried about "the dangers of freedom," the Kentucky senator worries about the "danger of losing that freedom."

Senator Rand Paul ✔ @SenRandPaul

Christie worries about the dangers of freedom. I worry about the danger of losing that freedom. Spying without warrants is unconstitutional.

Oooh, infighting. Let me help with the division by shining a light on both RW assholes.

The classic smack down of Christie:

We built it together

by Elizabeth Warren

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie gave a speech last night at the Republican National Convention about the Greatest Generation.

Let's talk about what really made the Greatest Generation so great.

Coming out of the Great Depression, America was at a crossroads. The future of our economy - and our democracy - was at stake.

We made a decision together as a country: To invest in ourselves, in our kids, and in our future. For nearly half a century, that's just what we did.

And it worked. For nearly 50 years, as our country got richer, our families got richer - and as our families got richer, our country got richer.

And then about 30 years ago, our country moved in a different direction. New leadership attacked wages. They attacked pensions. They attacked health care. They attacked unions. And now we find ourselves in a very different world from the one our parents and grandparents built. We are now in a world in which the rich skim more off the top in taxes and special deals, and they leave less and less for our schools, for roads and bridges, for medical and scientific research - less to build a future.

Last night, Chris Christie and the Republicans told the American people that we're to blame for our broken economy. He told families to tighten their belts. He told seniors to live on less. He told teachers to stop fighting for fair pay.

He never, ever mentioned how much more the richest have taken, and he had no mention that those who broke our economy still haven't been held accountable.

The Republicans believe in an America that is rigged for the big guys - giant corporations that can hire an army of lobbyists, ship jobs overseas, and take their profits to the Cayman Islands.

That's not who we are as a people - and that's not the kind of country we want to be.

We built America together, and that's what makes America great.

Pro have you ever really had a heart to heart with a libertarian.. They espouse a tolerance of everyone to be subjected to the strongest person in the room.. It is definitely a winner take all philosophy..

Rand Paul Outlines Budget Plan At CPAC

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Thursday outlined the basics of a budget plan he will release this month to balance the budget in five years. Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-WI) budget released this week attempts to acomplish that goal in 10 years.

"My budget eliminates the Department of Education," Paul said at Conservative Political Action Conference to much applause.

He continued: "My five-year budget will create millions of jobs by cutting the corporate income tax in half by creating a flat personal income tax of 17 percent and cutting the regulations that are strangling American business. The only stimulus ever proven to work is leaving more money in the hands of those who earned it."

Eliminate the Department of Energy; transfer the Atomic Energy Agency and all nuclear research laboratories to re-established Atomic Energy Commission
Block grant Medicaid and State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)
