Appearing to mistake Christianity and Islam for rival baseball teams rather than intertwined and connected faiths, Green questioned Aslans motives for writing a book about the founder of Christianity.
Well, to be clear, Aslan replied, I am a scholar of religions with four degrees, including one in the New Testament, and fluency in biblical Greek, who has been studying the origins of Christianity for two decades, who also just happens to be a Muslim.
He went on to patiently explain to Green that his book is written from the perspective of a historian, not that of an advocate for Islam. But even as he tried to establish to her that his book is not a hit piece against some kind of rival religious figure, Green didnt appear to be listening, but rather scanning her iPad for more antagonistic questions to fire at the historian.

(17,865 posts)She uses William Lane Craig to impeach Aslan. Craig is the one who thinks that the Israelites slaughtering entire peoples including babies is ok.
She is a graduate of the Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. I wonder what they think of their graduate.
Her assignment is as a religion correspondent.
She won a Fellowship from Templeton-Cambridge to study the dynamics between science and religion.
I wonder if she is aware that 100s (possibly 1000s) of Christian and Jewish scholars have written about Mohammed over the years.
You would think a graduate of Northwestern University would be a little smarter especially someone who is supposed to be an expert on religion (note her assignment as a religion correspondent).

- The anchor: is she stupid, an ideologue, or merely playing to her audience?
- How did he maintain his composure?
- Nothing of any substance about the book was covered at all.
Weird segment. I understand it was on the air but rather an internet thing, but still... The more sentient right-wingers would have to be a bit taken aback by that segment.
